This textbook presents a thorough review of available scientific data on western acupuncture, combined with a practical introduction to the subject on its different applications. No existing book draws together such a variety of uptodate material, and its value as a comprehensive and scientific reference for beginner or practising acupuncturists both medical and nonmedical will be unique. Authors are drawn from the UK, Europe and USA. Comprehensive. A broadbased overview of the scientific data available on a western approach to an application of acupuncture. Scientific. Presents clear data and extensive references. Unique. At present, there is no book which combines the practical side of acupuncture with such uptodate data. (NB. Besides a whole chapter devoted to methods of acupuncture, the text will introduce the reader to applications of these methods of use in various clinical settings. Distinguished contributors. Distils the knowledge and wisdom of eminent authors from the UK, mainland Europe and USA.

I thought there would be more practical exercises in this book. It's mostly theory, which is fine, but I was hoping for something more hands-on. Still, the research references are solid.

Informative but a Bit Dense
This book has a ton of information, which is great, but I found some sections a little hard to get through. The scientific explanations are thorough, but it can be overwhelming at times. Still, I'm learning a lot!

Disappointing Quality
I received my copy with some pages crinkled, which was kind of frustrating. The content is interesting, but the physical quality of the book really let it down. I expected better!

Great Introduction to Acupuncture
I bought this book as a gift for my sister who's starting her journey in acupuncture. The western scientific approach really helped her understand the concepts better. It's well-written and the illustrations are very helpful!

A Must-Read for Practitioners
As a practitioner interested in acupuncture, I found this approach to be incredibly insightful. The blend of western science with traditional methods is fascinating. Really opens your mind to different techniques!
