James Tiptree, Jr. was the pseudonym ofAlice B. Sheldon(19151987), in whose honor the Tiptree Awards are given annually. She wrote some of the best short SF ever, winning two Hugos and three Nebulas. This book brings together stories previously uncollectedincluding an early one published under her own name in The New Yorkerand many of her colorful nonfiction pieces, mainly autobiographical, published under the Tiptree name (19701987). What shines through in this book is the magnetic and charming personality of the author, one of the most influential SF personalities of her era.

I appreciate the effort in compiling this uncollected works of Tiptree, but I do think it’s a bit on the expensive side. The insights are valuable, yet some pieces felt repetitive. Still worth checking out for hardcore fans!

Disappointing condition upon arrival
I was really excited to receive this book, but it arrived with a noticeable dent on the cover. The content itself is fine, but it's frustrating to pay that much and get something that looks used. I expected better packaging, honestly.
