El libro es el resultado de esa investigacin y refleja el estado del arte sobre los factores que inciden en el sobrepeso y obesidad en la poblacin escolar. Todos los argumentos que se encuentran a lo largo de este texto estn dirigidos a proveer una informacin slida para el tomador de decisiones, ya sea en el campo de la salud o de la educacin, incluso del productor, relacionado con la ganancia de peso en el escolar. El texto est dirigido tambin a todo aquel profesional que est interesado en entender y estudiar el fenmeno ecolgico de la obesidad infantil y del adolescente.
