Driving from Chicago to the FBI's field office in Cincinnati, Garrett is caught in a terrible storm and is involved in an accident. A trip to the emergency room in a nearby hospital turns out to be the beginning of Garrett's good fortune. There, he is reacquainted with his high school friend, Sydney, the emergency room nurse. There, he learns she is recently widowed and the two of them recall a secret love they once had for each other in their younger days. And there, the spark is of love is once again ignited. They are now individuals living life in the shadows, both worn down by time and circumstance. There is only one problem with rekindling their love. Sydney has learned there was a dark side to her deceased husband. His involvement in the underworld of crime has left a debt, one that Sydney now owes. Garrett and Sydney decide to take on the underworld killers to try and turn the tables. Multiple murders and horrific circumstances put their love to the test. Can their memories of what once was be enough to unlock the future of their dreams?
