Assuming readers have a basic familiarity with C or C++, Frantisek Franek describes the techniques, methods and tools available to develop effective memory usage. The overwhelming majority of bugs and crashes in computer programming stem from problems of memory access, allocation, or deallocation. Such memory related errors are notoriously difficult to resolve. Moreover, the role that memory plays in C and C++ programming is a subject often overlooked in courses and in books. Most professional programmers learn about it entirely through actual experience of the problems it causes.

This book really dives into how memory works in C and C++. I found the examples super helpful for understanding the concepts. If you're a programming student, this is a must-have for your library!

Disappointed with the layout and examples
I thought this book would be a deep dive into memory concepts but found the layout confusing and the examples lacking clarity. I struggled to follow along with some of the concepts which was frustrating.

Not what I expected, more theory than practical
I was hoping for more practical examples in C/C++, but it felt more theoretical at times. Some sections were interesting, but I wished they had more coding drills for practice. Still useful if you're serious about learning.

Solid resource but not beginner-friendly
I appreciate what this book is trying to teach, especially about pointers and dynamic memory. However, the writing can be a bit dense for someone who's just starting out with C/C++. It's great for deeper learning, though.

Perfect for my programming course
I bought this for my C programming course, and it has helped me understand memory concepts so much better. The explanations are clear, and the diagrams are a nice touch. I'm glad I got it!
