About the Author Die Autorin: Vera B. Profit ist Prof. fr Germanistik und vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft an der Universitt von Notre Dame (Indiana). Verffentlicht hat sie schon zwei Bnde: Ein Portrt meiner Selbst: Karl Krolow's Autobiographical Poems (19451958) and Their French Sources (Peter Lang, 1991), sowie Interpretations of Iwan Goll's Late Poetry with a Comprehensive and Annotated Bibliography of the Writings by and about Iwan Goll (Peter Lang, 1977). Zum Dr. phil. promovierte sie an der Universitt Rochester (New York). Zwei Jahre lang hat sie aber auch in Europa studiert; eines verbrachte sie an der Universitt Wien, das zweite an der Sorbonne.
