Books by evangelical scholars on messianism in the Old Testament are either outdated, too brief, or lack balance, observes the author. Van Groningen has included an extensive bibliography of both books and articles for those wishing to pursue additional study. I was excited to dive into this topic after hearing great things, but I felt the writing could be clearer. Some parts were hard to follow and I got lost in the details too often. Maybe it gets better in the next volume?

Interesting, but a bit dense
I found this first volume quite engaging, but I have to admit, some sections are pretty dense. It's clear a lot of research went into this, just took me a little longer to get through than I expected.

I enjoyed the content immensely, but I was a bit disappointed with the shipping. It took longer than I expected for the book to arrive. However, once I started reading, it was worth the wait!
