Solche Metaphern besitzen per se keinen Nachrichtenwert, werden aber von vielen Blattmachern eingesetzt, weil sie die Leser in den Artikel ziehen und im Gedchtnis hngen bleiben sollen. Gelingt es, mit solchen Bildern Nachrichtentexte attraktiver zu gestalten? Der Pressekodex mahnt andererseits zur wahrheitsgetreuen Widergabe von Informationen erfllen Journalisten also noch ihre Sorgfaltspflicht, wenn sie mit solchen Metaphern die Grenze zwischen Fakt und Fiktion verwischen? Dieses Buch geht diesen Fragen nach und klrt zunchst den Metaphernbegriff anhand von verschiedenen Theorien aus der Sprachwissenschaft und der Psychologie. Die Wirkung von Sprachbildern in Nachrichtentexten wird mit einer umfangreichen Leserbefragung untersucht. Die Ergebnisse der statistischen Auswertung werden sowohl aus wissenschaftlicher wie auch aus medienpraktischer Sicht interpretiert.
