As an avid golfer and architecture enthusiast, I found this collection of writings by Macdonald, Thomas, and Hunter absolutely fascinating. The insights into the early principles of golf architecture are profound, and each chapter had me thinking differently about course design. Definitely a must-have for anyone who loves the game!

Good, but some sections were dry
I enjoyed reading about the history of golf architecture, but a few parts felt a bit tedious. The writers are clearly knowledgeable, but there were moments when it dragged on. Still, a solid read if you're passionate about golf course design.

Not what I expected
I was looking forward to some rich insights, but the content was a bit too academic for my taste. The blend of different authors' styles didn't resonate with me, and I found it hard to keep engaged. Maybe it’s better suited for serious historians, but I was hoping for something more accessible.
