Dies ist jedoch nur gegeben, sofern das Leistungsgeflle unter den Kontrahenten nicht zu gro und damit Chancengleichheit vorhanden ist. Als Ausdruck des Versuchs dies zu gewhrleisten, sind in den vergangenen Jahren verschiedene Konzepte entstanden. Zum einen ist in diesem Zusammenhang das DraftSystem zu nennen, durch das den schwchsten Mannschaften ein Erstwahlrecht fr Nachwuchsspieler eingerumt wird. Darber hinaus existieren Beschrnkungen der Summe, die ein Team pro Saison fr Gehaltszahlungen aufwenden darf, so genannte Salary Caps, die Gegenstand dieser Arbeit sind. Weiterhin ist der professionelle Sport seit Mitte der neunziger Jahre durch ein stetiges Gehaltswachstum gekennzeichnet. Dem entgegenzuwirken wird als zweites Ziel von Salary Caps angesehen. In dieser Arbeit sollen die Mglichkeiten und Grenzen von Salary Caps aufgezeigt werden. Dabei werden volkswirtschaftliche und rechtliche Gesichtspunkte im Hinblick auf die oben erwhnten Ziele von Salary Caps betrachtet. Dazu wird im Abschnitt 2 zunchst die theoretische Wirkungsweise von Salary Caps und ihre Umsetzung anhand einiger Beispiele beschrieben. Anschlieend wird auf die Schwchen des Konzepts eingegangen, bevor bestehende Potentiale aufgezeigt werden. Schlielich wird eine abschlieende Wertung der Ergebnisse vorgenommen.
