Noch bis Anfang der 1980er Jahre waren die einzigen bekannten Vertreter der Klasse der vollstndigen eingebetteten Minimalflchen endlicher Totalkrmmung die Ebene und die Kettenflche. Erst dann konnten mathematische Methoden entwickelt werden, die die Konstruktion weiterer Beispiele erlaubten. Derzeit wird versucht, diese Klasse in ihrer Gesamtheit zu verstehen und die Existenz von Flchen mit gewissen geometrischen oder topologischen Eigenschaften zu beweisen oder auszuschlieen. In der vorliegenden Monographie werden die Grundbegriffe der Theorie der vollstndigen Minimalflchen zusammengestellt. Es wird eine grndliche Einfhrung in die generische Konstruktionsmethode fr vollstndige Minimalflchen von Martin Traizet gegeben und eine Erweiterung zur expliziten Erzeugung planarer Enden entwickelt. Diese Technik bildet ein wichtiges Werkzeug fr die Behandlung aktueller Forschungsfragen der Minimalflchentheorie. Durch eine Anwendung dieser Methode wird die Existenz vollstndiger eingebetteter Minimalflchen endlicher Totalkrmmung mit planaren Enden kleinstmglicher Ordnung nachgewiesen.
