For this edition of Matadors Artists Portfolio series, Spanish painter Miquel Barcel (born 1957) presents four series made between 20092010. In these series Barcel paints without paint, instead using bleach and soot, which he applies to black paper and canvases. The bleach develops the image by removing its background.
