From his childhood on, Mallorca was to be a second home for Joan Miro. His mother hailed from the island, as did his wife Pilar Juncosa. A refuge for many Republicans, Mallorca became Miros permanent place of abode from the mid1950s onward. He acquired a plot of land overlooking the Bahia de Palma, upon which he commissioned his friend Josep Lluis Sert to build a spacious studio. He died there in 1983 at the age of ninety.Miro on Mallorca concerns itself primarily with the varied themes and techniques of the artists later works painting, sculpture, prints, and ceramics which, with the exception of the latter, were all created in his studios on the island. It was the clear light of Mallorca that especially fascinated Miro the poetic blues of the sky and the sea. In his sculpture, he was especially inspired by the artistic creativity of the island inhabitants, not to mention the agriculture and the precipitous cliffs which give the landscape of Mallorca its unique quality.

I like the Miro library, but putting it together wasn't the easiest. The instructions could have been clearer, and it took me a while to figure it all out. Once it was up, though, it looks really nice!

Disappointed with the quality
I had high hopes for the Miro Pegasus library, but it feels a bit flimsy. After a few weeks of use, it started wobbling and isn’t as sturdy as I expected. Not sure if I’d recommend it to others.

Nice but came with a scratch
The Pegasus library looks great in my study, but it arrived with a minor scratch on the side. I like the overall style and functionality, but that little blemish is a bit of a letdown. Hoping customer service can help with that!
