Los procesos migratorios conllevan construcciones y reconstrucciones identitarias en las que confluyen los bagajes culturales y las coyunturas de los contextos de origen y de recepcin. De todos modos, en tiempos coloniales y poscoloniales se ven teidos, adems, por una ideologa que ha trascendido fronteras,creando verdaderas gradaciones de pueblos y de seres humanos. Especial relevancia adquieren estas consideraciones al abordar las migraciones desde el archipilago africano de Cabo Verde a la Argentina, ya que se iniciaron en un territorio colonizado hacia otro, cercano a la celebracin de su primer siglo de independencia, pero abiertamente embarcado en un proyecto europesta. Para comprender las adscripciones y las estrategias de insercin de los inmigrantes, este trabajo se sumerge, por lo tanto, en un recorrido que comienza mucho antes de estos desplazamientos y se remonta a la propia historia de la formacin de ambos pueblos, inserta en un marco de poder fuertemente racializado.
