Erst in jngerer Vergangenheit begann man, hauptschlich auf den Gebieten der Soziologie und Psychologie, das andere Geschlecht den Mann in den Blickpunkt der wissenschaftlichen Betrachtung familirer Lebensweisen zu rcken. Die individuelle Sozialisation beruht nach Annahme der sozialwissenschaftlichen Rollentheorie auf der Verinnerlichung geschlechtsspezifischer Rollenzuweisungen. In diesem Zusammenhang ist auch die Position des Vaters bei der elterlichen Erziehung der Kinder von Interesse. Nun soll der Mann nicht einzig auf das Vatersein' reduziert werden, die Vaterrolle lebt schlielich auch aus anderen Rollen heraus, jedoch lsst sich an diesem Punkt, dem Wandel der Vaterrolle', auch die Transformation der Geschlechterrollen' im Kontext des gesellschaftlichen Wandels exemplarisch darstellen. Die vorliegende Studie untersucht das Thema des mnnlichen Rollenbildes kritisch und umfassend.
