A diario, un nmero creciente de trabajadores vlidos o incluso brillantes son acosados psicolgicamente por otros. 'mobbing' describe el naufragio personal y profesional a que se ven abocadas estas personas, vctimas del denominado Mobbing o Psicoterror laboral, que destruye la empleabilidad y la resistencia psicolgica de la persona que lo padece. En muchos casos, las vctimas son acosadas por sus mismos compaeros de trabajo y no slo por sus jefes. Muchas vctimas del mobbing son directivos o mandos intermedios que, debido a celos profesionales o envidia de otros compaeros o incluso subordinados, son hostigados por stos, a veces con el tcito consentimiento de la Direccin de la empresa, que 'mira hacia otro lado'. El hostigador elige a su vctima de manera intencional y busca su destruccin y eliminacin mediante todo tipo de estrategias perversas. Mobbing es una gua prctica de autoayuda para reconocer el problema y aprender a identificarlo tempranamente, dndole respuesta cuanto antes de una manera proactiva y no reactiva. Se describen las modalidades que reviste el mobbing y las caractersticas tpicas que presentan los hostigadores, y se analizan las defensas y racionalizaciones que las vctimas suelen desarrollar habitualmente ante el mobbing y que les impiden desplegar una respuesta activa para salir del problema.
