Er prgte den Begriff Mobbing, welcher 1991 bekannt wurde (vgl. HERMANS/KRINGS 2004, 21f.). Als das Thema Mobbing aufkam, ging man davon aus, dass es sich um Einzelflle handelt. Untersuchungen aber ergaben, dass cirka sieben Prozent aller Arbeitnehmer Mobbingbetroffene sind. Mobbing tritt vor allem in mittleren und greren Unternehmen auf (vgl. ESSER u.a. 1999, 33 f.). In den letzten Jahren haben sich die Belastungen am Arbeitsplatz verndert. Die Faktoren wie Hektik und Anspannung sind deutlich gestiegen. Die Erschwernisse am Arbeitsplatz haben sich von krperlichen hin zu psychischen bewegt. Immer fter entstehen Auseinandersetzungen, die in den hufigsten Fllen auf Neid und Missgunst zurckzufhren sind. Man spricht in diesem Zusammenhang von negativer Kommunikation (vgl. VOLK 2004, 1). Ein hufiges Vorurteil ist, dass Mobbing hauptschlich unter Frauen auftritt. Dies ist falsch, denn die Untersuchungen belegen, dass Mobbingflle Frauen und Mnner gleichermaen betreffen. Hufig sind die jngeren Arbeitnehmer die Mobbingbetroffenen, da sie noch nicht fest in ein Unternehmen integriert sind und ihre Karrierechancen den anderen Kollegen missfallen (vgl. ESSER u.a 1999, 33 f.). Auch im Unternehmen im Fallbeispiel, welches ich mit Unternehmen X bezeichne, gewinnt Mobbing immer mehr an Bedeutung.
