El presente libro tiene como objetivo principal el desarrollo de una aplicacin que permite modelar cambios en la geometra de objetos, en particular para el modelamiento del crecimiento de rboles. La geometra del objeto se representa por medio de una discretizacin espacial de la superficie del objeto, elaborada por una malla de tringulos. La aplicacin genera una malla inicial, tanto a partir de archivos que contienen la informacin del objeto a modelar, como a partir de objetos predefinidos. Esta malla se usa para simular un paso del crecimiento de un rbol usando Comsol. Desde el simulador la aplicacin recibe un desplazamiento y una direccin por cada punto de la malla. Con esta informacin, se desplaza cada uno de los elementos de la malla, generndose deformaciones que deben ser modeladas correctamente.
