Ausgehend von der bekannten Unterscheidung von Albert (1991) zwi schen "angelschsischem" und "rheinischem" Kapitalismus schien die deut sche Variante bis Anfang der 90er Jahre imstande, die "rheinische" Folie fr ein europisches Modell liefern zu knnen. Dafr sprachen die konomi schen Erfolge der "differenzierten Qualittsproduktion" (Streeck 1992) und der dahinterstehende institutionelle virtuous circ/e von qualifikationsfordern den neuen Produktionskonzepten (Kern und Schumann 1984 ), einem qualifi kationssichemden System der Berufsausbildung und nicht zuletzt dem kooperativen und gestaltungsfhigen System der industriellen Beziehungen.
