In einer explorativen Studie werden die Zielsetzungen, Resultate und Bewertungen des Modellversuchs Informationsvermittlung bilanziert. Untersucht wurden 134 gefrderte Informationsvermittlungsstellen (IVS) in privaten Dienstleistungsunternehmen, in wirtschaftsnah arbeitenden Einrichtungen und in Forschungsinstitutionen, die fr die interne Verwendung und/oder mit dem Ziel der externen Vermarktung von Recherchen OnlineDatenbanken erproben konnten. Der Autor stellt den experimentellen Ansatz der Frdermanahme heraus, erlutert die gewhlten quantitativen und qualitativen Analyseverfahren sowie die empirische Methode der teilnehmenden Beobachtung. Er beschreibt den Verlauf des Modellversuchs von der Implementierungsphase ber die flankierenden Manahmen bis zur Endauswertung. Dabei werden neue statistische und qualitative Ergebnisse zur informationstechnischen Ausstattung von IVS, zur Qualifikation der Mitarbeiter, zu deren Rechercheverhalten, zum Marketing und zu Kooperationsstrukturen sowie zu Wirtschaftlichkeit und Akzeptanz der OnlineNutzung prsentiert. Zuletzt werden die Erfahrungen aus dem Modellversuch zusammenfassend bewertet. Schlufolgerungen fr aktuelle Frdermanahmen im Fachinformationsbereich werden gezogen.
