El acufero de la ciudad de San Luis Potos, en el centro de Mxico, se encuentra en una regin semirida con escasos ros, donde el riego agrcola se realiza con aguas de desecho sin previo tratamiento y donde, por interaccin natural aguaroca, se presentan concentraciones elevadas de flor disuelto en el agua subterrnea. Este acufero es la fuente principal de agua potable, agua para riego y usos industriales. Ante esta problemtica, este libro ofrece alternativas de extraccin que producen un menor desequilibrio al acufero, mediante las cuales puede planearse un manejo apropiado y eficiente del agua subterrnea.
