La constitutivit VanB est due une dltion ou mutation dans le capteur entranant une perte de son activit phosphatase. La rsistance VanD est due la synthse constitutive de prcurseurs DAlaDLac suite des mutations dans les gnes de rgulation associes des mutations dans le gne de la ligase DAla:DAla. L'opron vanG compos de gnes recruts dans divers oprons van se caractrise par un systme rgulateur 3 composantes transcrits constitutivement partir du promoteur de rgulation alors que la transcription des gnes de rsistance est inductible partir du promoteur de rsistance. Une PCR multiplex permet la dtection de la rsistance aux glycopeptides et l'identification de l'espce.
