Mohan Rakesh (8 January 1925 3 December 1972) Was A Versatile Hindi Writer Who, In A Life Span Of Just Forty-Seven Years, Wrote Numerous Memorable Plays, Novels, And Stories. His Play, Aashad Ka Ek Din, Is Considered The First Modern Play In Hindi Literature. Among The Writers Who Emerged On The Hindi Literary Scene After 1947, He Was A Pioneer Who Embraced The Changing Times And Context And Incorporated Them Into His Writing. Along With His Contemporaries, Kamleshwar And Rajendra Yadav, He Initiated The New Story Literary Movement. This Collection Includes All 66 Of His Stories, Written Between 1947 And 1969. When Examined Sequentially, They Demonstrate A Continuous Development Of His Writing. Mohan Rakesh Was A Master Of Narrative Craft, And His Ability To Convey A Great Deal With A Few Words Is A Testament To His Mastery Of The Language. Some Of His Stories Are Set In The Urban Middle Class, While Others Echo The Pain Of IndiaS Partition, But Each Story Leaves An Indelible Mark On The ReaderS Heart And Mind.
