On its initial publication in 1998, John R. Lotts More Guns, Less Crime drew both lavish praise and heated criticism. More than a decade later, it continues to play a key role in ongoing arguments over guncontrol laws: despite all the attacks by guncontrol advocates, no one has ever been able to refute Lotts simple, startling conclusion that more guns mean less crime. Relying on the most rigorously comprehensive data analysis ever conducted on crime statistics and righttocarry laws, the book directly challenges common perceptions about the relationship of guns, crime, and violence. For this third edition, Lott draws on an additional ten years of dataincluding provocative analysis of the effects of gun bans in Chicago and Washington, D.Cthat brings the book fully up to date and further bolsters its central contention.

While I appreciate the arguments presented in the book, I noticed a few typos that distracted me. Also, the layout could've been better organized. Still, there’s a lot of valuable information for anyone interested in the intersection of gun laws and crime.

Good read for policy enthusiasts
I found this edition quite informative, especially with the new studies it includes. However, some parts felt a bit dense and hard to get through. If you're passionate about law and economics, it's worth the read, just be prepared to take your time!

Not what I expected
Unfortunately, this book didn't meet my expectations. It had a lot of academic jargon that made it hard to follow, and I found some sections misleading. I thought it would be more straightforward, but it’s too complex for casual readers.

In-depth look at gun control laws
This book really dives deep into the complexities of crime and gun control legislation. The third edition updates a lot of points that are crucial for anyone trying to understand these issues. I bought it for my law class, and it's been a fantastic resource!
