Este libro surge de la inquietud de su autora, quien tras conocer las actitudes y motivacin de estudiantes colombianos hacia el aprendizaje del ingls y francs durante muchos aos, se pregunt qu sucede con estudiantes de diferentes partes del mundo que aprenden espaol en Colombia. As, inicialmente se define el contexto de un grupo de estudiantes que aprenden espaol en Bogot y, a travs de la observacin de varias clases y la aplicacin de una encuesta, se esclarecen algunas causas que afectan sus actitudes y desempeo acadmico. Este estudio pretende que los profesores de Espaol (en ejercicio y a futuro) adopten estrategias de intervencin para elevar el inters que los estudiantes tienen con respecto al aprendizaje de esta lengua.
