Este trabajo presenta los resultados de un estudio, el primero de estas caractersticas a nivel de la Comunidad de Castilla y Len, cuyo objetivo es identificar los perfiles socioeconmicos de las mujeres salmantinas en situacin de irregularidad laboral, en comparacin con las caractersticas de las mujeres que desarrollan su actividad en un marco laboral regular. Se han recogido 3100 encuestas, realizadas en 144 municipios, utilizando un muestreo multietpito. El servicio domstico es la actividad con mayor irregularidad laboral femenina, seguido de la hostelera y el pequeo comercio. Salamanca tiene un comportamiento coincidente con el encontrado a nivel de toda Espaa. Las mujeres en situacin laboral irregular salmantinas manifiestan su deseo de pasar a una situacin regular unnimemente; solicitan cursos con contenido prctico que les prepare para el mundo laboral, flexibilizacin en los horarios y una ayuda por parte de la Administracin, en la atencin de nios y ancianos, que les permita conciliar su vida familiar y laboral.
