La obra presenta un panorama general sobre la situacin de las mujeres hispanoamericanas que se establecieron en cdiz durante los tres aos constitucionales, 1810 1813. Dicho trabajo tuvo su origen en una beca de investigacin otorgada por la fundacin municipal de la mujer de la ciudad de Cdiz en el ao 2008. Para su elaboracin, ha sido fundamental el uso de fuentes documentales que obran en los archivos histricos municipal y provincial de la ciudad: padrones y censos, as como disposiciones notariales. Con ello, hemos recreado la distribucin urbanstica de las mujeres que se radicaron en la ciudad durante estos tres aos, as como procedimos a analizar cuestiones relativas a las edades, estados civil, sexo, origen o profesion. Junto a ello, los testamentos de quienes otorgaron su ltima voluntad en Cdiz, completan esta primera investigacin que forma parte de una tesis doctoral titulada "Cdiz, Puerto y Puerta de Amrica: Poblacin Hispanoamericana en Cdiz 1765 y 1840".
