The converter has put hope in the minds of power electronic engineers that a time will come when it will break a record by providing an efficient means of utilizing the abundant renewable energy resources. This book discussed the 3 major commercially available multilevel converter topologies, describing their design, technological advancements, applications and the various modulation techniques employed. The book also analyzed the harmonic contents of a Nine level converter with different modulation index and switching angle distribution ratio. Two cases were simulated using PSIM package, in which the result in both the two cases appeared to comply with the SHE elimination theory. The simulated results were then verified using a prototype in the laboratory.
