As someone who's dabbled in Java before, I think Murach's Java Programming does a decent job of reinforcing core concepts while also introducing some advanced topics. The layout makes it easy to follow, though I did find a few typos here and there.

I found Murach's Java Programming to be helpful overall, but some sections feel a bit outdated. The book covers the basics well, but I wish they had more examples involving modern practices and tools. Still, I'd say it’s a solid guide for getting the fundamentals down.
