The Musahar Community, Considered Descendants Of Shabari, An Ardent Devotee Of Lord Rama And Considered A Primitive Tribe, Lives A Neglected And Despised Life In Society. Today, In Twenty-First-Century India, This Community And Its Children Earn Their Living By Working In Fields And Brick Kilns. Attending School Is A Pipe Dream For Their Children. The Indian GovernmentS Housing Schemes And Household Toilet Schemes Are Meaningless For Them. While They Are Nominally Designated As Scheduled Castes In The Constitution, The Reservations Promised By Dr. Ambedkar Are Meaningless Due To Their Lack Of Education And Permanent Housing. Unfortunately, Little Has Ever Been Written About The Plight Of This Community. This Is A Small Effort To Bring The Plight Of This Neglected Community To The Attention Of The Nation. An Informative Work That Sheds Light On The Social, Economic, And Educational Status Of The Musahar Community.
