Die ffentliche Meinung ist stark von diesem Thema geprgt und Unternehmen werden immer wieder auf ihre Verantwortung in diesem Bereich hingewiesen. Diese Arbeit beschftigt sich mit der Nachhaltigkeitsberichterstattung von Unternehmen im DAX30, um den Stand der Nachhaltigkeitsberichterstattung groer deutscher Unternehmen und die Qualitt ihrer Berichte zu analysieren. In dieser Arbeit werden Entwicklungen zum Begriff der Nachhaltigkeit dargestellt. Zunchst wird auf theoretische Grundlagen der Nachhaltigkeitsberichterstattung eingegangen. Dabei wird geklrt, was genau unter dem Begriff Nachhaltigkeit zu verstehen ist und daran anschlieend die mglichen Grnde und Vorteile einer nachhaltigen Entwicklung aufgezeigt. Im Weiteren werden Mglichkeiten zur Standardisierung von Nachhaltigkeitsberichten gezeigt. In Anlehnung an diese Mglichkeiten wird zuerst die Frage geklrt, welche Kriterien ein guter Nachhaltigkeitsbericht erfllen sollte und anschlieend ein geeignetes Bewertungssystem fr die Nachhaltigkeitsberichterstattung entwickelt. Darauf aufbauend werden die Nachhaltigkeitsberichte der DAX30 Unternehmen in einer empirischen Studie anhand dieses Bewertungssystems beurteilt, um so eine Aussage ber die Qualitt der Berichte machen zu knnen.
