Altogether 978 persons (soldiers or new widows) made application under the Maine Resolves, of whom 480 were soldiers and 500 were widows. In the former case, the soldier is identified by name and residence in the 1830s, followed by his place of residence at the time of his enlistment. In the case of a widow's application, we are given her name, her address upon application, the name of her second husband, if she remarried, as well as, of course, the name of her soldierhusband, his residence at the time of his enlistment, and the place and date of his death.
