Die ersten berlegungen zu dieser Arbeit entstanden im Rahmen eines Se minars ber Konservatismus im Sommersemester 1973, das Herr Pro fessor Dr. Udo Bermbach, Seminar fr Sozialwissenschaften an der Uni versitt Hamburg, gehalten hatte. Ohne seine vielfltigen Ermunterungen und fruchtbaren Anregungen, die sich auch gerade auf dem fcherber greifenden Aspekt dieser Arbeit bezogen, wre diese Untersuchung nicht entstanden. Fr die naturwissenschaftlichen Theorieteile verdanke ich Herrn Profes sor Dr. Christian Hnemrder, 'Institut fr Geschichte der Naturwissen schaften, Mathematik und Technik' an der Universitt Hamburg, unge whnlich viele Hinweise und Hilfen. Whrend der Konzeptionsphase wurde eine Korrespondenz mit dem Nestor der sozialwissenschaftliehen und ideengeschichtlichen Erforschung der deutschen Romantik, Herrn Professor Dr. Jakob Baxa, MariaEnzersdorf am Gebirge, Republik sterreich, notwendig. Er half mir durch seine profunde Kenntnis und durch viele briefliche Ratschlge.
