Most boaters know that they are required by law to carry a copy of this publication on board at all times. What many boaters do not know is that they must have a current edition on board. Outofdate versions will not meet the requirement of a Coast Guard inspection and could result in a fine. Paradise Cay Publications edition is the most current Rules book available, even more up to date than the most recent Coast Guard edition. The new edition is correct through 10 June, 2000 Notice to Mariners. The new Navigation Rules from Paradise Cay Publications includes instruction on where to find the Notice to Mariners, as well as a section to record updates. This will allow mariners to keep their Rules book current. Navigation Rules from Paradise Cay Publications provides a concise yet complete copy of the Inland and International Navigation Rules to be carried on board for quick reference or study. This book is a reformatted version of the Government Edition. It is presented in a format that emphasizes the difference between the inland and international rules. The inland rules are presented in full; the inland rules that differ from the international rules are clearly marked and the differences are indicated in the second section of the book. This format makes Paradise Cays Rules about half the size of the government edition and eliminates the redundancy found in the Government edition. The other contribution added to help when studying the Rules or using it for reference is an annotated table of contents. This addition will guide readers to a desired rule. The topic of each subsection has been noted for quick reference along with the page numbers for Inland and International Rules. With all these added benefits provided in Paradise Cays edition of Navigation Rules they are still able to offer it at $9.95, the Government edition lists for $14.95.
