Als Bezugspunkt galt es im 18. Jhdt. denen, die eine Subversion normativklassizistischer Regelsthetiken anstrebten, whrend es fr die Verteidiger einer monistischen Theorie des Schnen eine kontinuierliche Herausforderung darstellte. Die fortwhrende, untergrndige Aufmerksamkeit, welche der Konzeption des Erhabenen ber diesen Zeitraum hinweg zuteil wurde, erlaubt es, gerade die Anfnge philosophischer sthetik treffend als eine Epoche der 'doppelten sthetik' zu bezeichnen. Indem Immanuel Kant, der die Thematik bereits zuvor in seinen 'Beobachtungen ber das Gefhl des Schnen und Erhabenen' (1764) behandelt hatte, der Analyse des Erhabenen einen Platz in seiner 'Kritik der Urteilskraft' (1790) einrumte, wurde erstmals eine umfassende philosophische Konzeption des Erhabenen entwickelt, welche methodisch wie inhaltlich ber die bisherigen, heterogenen Versuche hinauswies. Die 'Analytik des Erhabenen' (KU, 23 29) markiert somit einen Kreuzungspunkt in der begrifflichen Entwicklungsgeschichte desselben: sowohl bildet sie den Abschlu einer jahrhundertlangen Debatte, als auch die Basis fr alle anknpfenden Reflexionen zum Thema. Durch eine Interpretation dieses Textes ein detailgenaues Verstndnis des Kantischen Erhabenen zu gewhrleisten, soll das Ziel der vorliegenden Untersuchung sein. Im Rahmen meiner Arbeit mchte ich zunchst (Abschnitt 1) die Abgrenzung des Erhabenen vom in der vorangegangenen 'Analytik' ( 1 22) thematisierten Gefhl des Schnen, welche Kant in 23 durch Extrapolation ihrer zentralen Differenzaspekte vornimmt, referieren.
