"Negotiation of Status of Korean NonnativeEnglish Speaking Teachers" describes four Korean EFL teachers' struggles with their status in the Korean EFL context where the NSNNS (native speaker nonnative speaker) dichotomy emerges. The book is particularly concerned with: (1) how the native speaker model affected the teachers' rationale for definitions of native speakers of English, (2) how they observed the native speaker model in Korean ELT, and (3) how they negotiated their status visvis the native speaker model. This book discusses power relations between native speaker teachers and nonnative speaker teachers, and also addresses key issues of English as a world language.
