Die Entstehung der vorliegenden Schrift wurde ganz wesentlich durch zwei fr mich vorbildliche Gelehrte beeinflut, denen ich an dieser Stelle dafr meinen Dank sagen mchte: Herrn Professor Harald Scherf darf ich als meinen akademischen Lehrer bezeichnen; in unzhligen Facetten hat er mir vor Augen gefhrt, was zum Leitmotiv der vorliegenden Untersuchung geworden ist: Den engen Zusammenhang von konomischer Theorie und Sprache. Die entscheidenden Teile der hier vorgelegten Analyse dieses Zusammenhangs entstanden whrend eines von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft finanzierten Forschungsaufenthaltes in Cambridge, England, wo Herr Professor Frank Hahn die Freundlichkeit hatte, meine unausgereiften berlegungen zum konomi schen Gleichgewichtsbegriff mit mir zu diskutieren. Seiner Kritik und seinen Schriften verdankt die vorliegende Arbeit vermutlich mehr Anregungen als ich in entsprechenden Hinweisen zum Ausdruck gebracht habe. Auch den Einflu, den Jo Runde auf die Entstehung dieser Schrift gehabt hat, kann ich im Detail kaum rekonstruieren: Die vielen und intensiven Diskussionen, die ich in Cambridge mit ihm fhren konnte, haben nicht nur einzelne meiner Argumente geprgt, sondern, wie ich glaube und hoffe, auch meine Neigung zum Dogmatismus ein wenig gemildert. Ferner mchte ich Paul Anand danken: Die in dieser Arbeit verwendete axiomatische Darstel lungsweise geht letztlich auf Gesprche mit ihm zurck. Uwe Ram bin ich vor allem fr seine scharfsinnige Kritik an einigen der Axiome dankbar.
