Vielmehr nhern sich Jugendforscher ihrem Thema von makrosoziolo gischen Prmissen und Perspektiven; sie mchten Zusammenhnge erhellen und herstellen zwischen gesellschaftlichem Wandel und dessen Wirkungs krften auf Jugend. 1 Arbeit Geschlecht Biographie Ansatzpunkte fr eine Analyse dieser Zusammenhnge werden an neuralgi schen Nahtstellen zwischen Jugend und Gesellschaft gesucht und aufgefunden. Arbeit ist eine solche Nahtstelle, denn im, alten' Verstndnis von Jugend ist der bergang von Jugendlichen ins Arbeitsleben auch der bergang ins Erwachse nenleben. Dieser bergang wird nun aber im modernen Jugendleben immer problematischer. Einmal, weil die Arbeitsgesellschaft selbst in einer Krise steekt und ihren Mitgliedern nicht mehr ohne weiteres ein Arbeitsleben in Aus sicht stellt. Zum anderen, weil immer lngere und verzweigtere Bildungswege den bergang von einem kurzen Sprung zu einem verwickelten Hrdenlauf ge macht haben, der viele Lebensjahre in Beschlag nimmt.
