The main aim of the present work was to prepare some different, novel carbohydrate derivatives suitable as thickening agents in discharge, dischargeresist and burnout printing styles. Different thickening agents derived from agriculture wastes, plant seeds or maize starch were prepared, characterized and evaluated as thickening agents in the aforementioned different textile printing styles on using different types of dyes
