Product Description No one likes being the Odd Man Out Dean Davenport is the only single man in a tightly knit group of coupledup friends living in Chicago. He has just about given up on finding Mr. Right when he meets the Tony Finelli, who may just be the man of his dreams. The pressure from his friends the ones that aren't trying to sleep with him, that is to make his new relationship work, only makes matters worse. Through it all, he's dealing with a stressful job, a best friend with cancer, and a lifetime worth of insecurities. Ultimately he must choose what he wants out of life and find the strength to go for it and decide whether his best chance for love is worth the risk to his heart. About the Author Author Vince Lawson has done many different things in many different places, but is now a writer living in San Francisco a place he is very happy to finally call home. Excerpt. Reprinted by permission. All rights reserved. Excerpt from Chapter One: "You know, this would have been a lot easier if you werent here," the waiter quipped. Then he was off to get an extra place setting. It was meant as a joke, and everyone laughed, including Dean. But deep down, on a level that took him by surprise, the comment hit him like a ton of bricks. The rest of the dinner passed as special events with his friends always did; with much laughter, much teasing, and a lot of love. They drank a bit too much, toasting his advancing years, their longstanding friendships, and absent friends. There were stupid gifts, dirty cards, and enough double entendres to fill a weeks worth of bad sitcoms. But for Dean, there was an uncomfortable feeling that he couldnt shake. He had reached a point in his life where everything should be good and right and happy, but it wasnt. The waiters comment wouldnt leave his thoughts and he didnt know why. Then, as they were all working their way through his birthday cake, it hit him. He had somehow become an extra in his own life.
