It is very scary for a child to leave their home and parents unwillingly to live with strangers, not knowing if they will ever be reunited with their families again. Children do not understand the foster care system nor why their family has been broken apart. They can also at times live with guilt of caring or even loving their foster family. It is very rough on them.
