Patrick Adcock is a Professor Emeritus of English. In addition to fiction, he has written three produced plays, a libretto, essays for scholarly journals, over one hundred essays for reference works, and material for a professional comedian. He is a native Arkansan, with degrees from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, the University of Central Arkansas, the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, and Texas A & M University at Commerce. He was employed by the Social Security Administration for eight years, with assignments in Fort Worth, Texas; New Orleans, Louisiana; El Dorado, Arkansas; Baltimore, Maryland; Little Rock, Arkansas; Dallas, Texas; and Texarkana, Texas. He taught at Henderson State University and other institutions for thirty years. At Henderson State, he edited both a literary magazine and a scholarly journal. He is widowed, has one daughter, two grandchildren, and resides in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
