Diese Arbeit befaBt sich mit einem Gebiet der Produktionstheorie und planung, dem in der betriebswirtschaftlichen Forschung bislang nur geringe Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt worden ist: U ntersucht wird, wie sich Anlagen und Maschinen allgemein: Betriebs mittel im ProzeB der LeistungSerstellUng verhalten. Je kapitalintensiver ein Produk tionsprozeB ist, eine um so groBere Bedeutung als Kostenfaktor kommt der Abnutzung der Produktionsanlagen, der Verminderung des in ihnen enthaltenen Leistungspoten tials, zu, um so wiinschenswerter und um 'richtige' betriebliche Entscheidungen treffen zu konnen um so notwendiger erscheint es, diesen AbnutzungsprozeB quantita tiv exakt zu erfassen. Wiihrend in der Produktionstheorie bisher eine Anlage meist als eine nicht weiter zu zerlegende Einheit angesehen und behandelt wurde, wird hier davon ausgegangen, daB sie die Summe zum Teil sehr unterschiedlicher Komponenten darstellt. Es sind diese Komponenten, die oft in sehr verschiedenem MaBe dem VerschleiB unterliegen. Das bedeutet aber zugleich: Es gibt keinen 'einheitlichen' VerschleiB der Gesamtanlage, sondern statt dessen VerschleiBe, d. h. Potentialminderungen, der einzelnen, in ihrer Gesamtheit die Anlage ausmachenden Bauteile oder Komponenten. Die Potentiale dieser einzelnen Komponenten sind es, die in ihrem Zusammenwirken die Leistung der Gesamtanlage ermoglichen. Auf der Grundlage dieses Denkansatzes entwickelt der Verfasser Verfahren zur Quanti fizierung des Verbrauchs an Leistungspotential der Komponenten. Die Basis daflir bilden physikalische MeBwerte, die unmittelbar an den yom VerschleiB betroffenen Bauteilen erhoben werden.
