La prevencin de accidentes en los entornos laborales debe contar con una sealizacin de seguridad ptima como herramienta preventiva bsica. Hechos como la globalizacin o la cada vez ms comn movilidad de los trabajadores hacen necesario el uso de una sealizacin adecuada, fcilmente comprensible por individuos con distinto idioma y trasfondo cultural. A lo largo de esta investigacin, se han estudiado distintos aspectos relativos a las seales de seguridad, con especial atencin al modo en que son percibidas, a sus pictogramas y su comprensin. Para ello se ha utilizado como herramienta fundamental un equipo de seguimiento de la mirada o eye tracking, que ha permitido obtener informacin de gran utilidad para lograr los objetivos inicialmente planteados. El anlisis de la forma en que distintas seales son vistas permiti conocer patrones de observacin y reas de atencin. Algunas de las conclusiones alcanzadas han hecho posible la elaboracin de una herramienta, basada en CAD (Diseo Asistido por Ordenador) que permite visualizar la sealizacin de seguridad instalada y su cobertura, as como la identificacin de algunos de los problemas de seales utilizadas actualmente.
