El Santuario de Betania lugar donde, para los practicantes de la religin catlica, se produjo la Aparicin de la Virgen bajo la Advocacin de Mara Madre Reconciliadora de los Pueblos, est asociada a un manantial presente y es reconocida por la Iglesia Catlica. Este santuario se ubica en la Finca Betania, en la va que comunica los centros poblados de Ca y San Casimiro, en la cuenca alta y media del ro Tarma, Municipio Urdaneta del Estado Miranda, Venezuela. La falta de un ordenamiento que atienda a los criterios de conservacin, valoracin del patrimonio tangible e intangible, as como el desarrollo de actividades econmicas por parte de la poblacin que vive en las reas prximas al santuario estn generando consecuencias negativas sobre el mismo. Este trabajo, plantea una investigacin sobre los criterios de ordenacin, y valoracin del patrimonio y al establecimiento lneas programticas dirigidas a la conservacin ambiental de los elementos que integran el santuario, su rea circunvecina y la cuenca alta y media del ro Tarma, as como su aprovechamiento, considerando la dinmica poblacional y actividades econmicas que pueden ser desarrolladas de manera sustentable.
