Parenting With An Attitude....21 Questions Successful Parents Ask Themselves, takes a somewhat different approach to parenting than do many books on the market today. Most parenting books address parenting goals and expectations that certainly do merit our consideration. And usually they are written to endorse a particular approach to accomplish those goals and expectations. Parenting With An Attitude does not suggest or endorse any specific approach we parents can employ to persuade, coerce, bribeor if all else failsforce our kids to do and be what we want them to do and be. Certainly, we want them to be respectful of others, to be responsible, polite, ambitious, helpful around the house, and much more. Of course it is the desire and responsibility of any dedicated parent to help develop a healthy and well balanced selfesteem in their kids, and to encourage them to grow up to be adults who have a sane and reasonable view of what they have to offer. And to do all this, having an approach that is effective is necessary. The purpose of what you will read here is to encourage parents to assess and evaluate what attitudes thay have toward their kids, and to see how those attitudes are either leading to successful parenting, or interferring with their efforts. It is only as we look closely at our own attitudes that we are then able to 'design' great and healthy kids. So Parenting with An Attitude will help parents look at themselves and the role their attitudes play in the growth and development of their kids. As they assess and fine tune their attitudes where needed, they will then be more able and equipped to successfully choose the parenting approaches that work best for them.
