Le francoprovenal est une langue part entire, bien dlimite linguistiquement et gographiquement, mais aussi porteuse de diffrentes cultures (savoyarde, forezienne, romande, valdlaine) et d'une riche littrature. Mais pour tre reconnue comme langue, il lui fallait une orthographe. Car le francoprovenal se heurte une particularit : c'est une langue entirement dialectalise, o l'intercomprhension est difficile, voire impossible audel de la rgion.
