In this book, we have reported the emission characteristics in and around the coke ovens with the aim of providing overview of the characteristics of PM2.5, PM10 (organic and inorganic constituents, their toxicity, source apportionment) and toxic gases released during coke oven operations. The book contains eight chapters. First two chapters deal with introduction and methodologies including quality control and statistical analysis. Chapters fifth to eight deal with chemical characterization of feed coals and particulate matter, emission inventories and source apportionment studies. The book should be useful to the researcher, who have an interest in the source apportion study of particulate matter, and have relevance particularly to bioscientists, policy makers, technologists and mathematical modelers involved in the study of toxicity and reduction in PM2.5 emission from coal based industries.
