With her catalogue, Rita AdolffWolffarth provides an insight into her rich artistic work. The artist does not use painting as a tool of social criticism, but rather to inspire in the viewer a feeling of internal freedom and serenity. The arrangement of colours is not left to chance, it derives from a studied understanding of their effects and the desire to provide a narrative that reveals the phenomenon of light through colours and the glow of colours. This skilful play of colours gives the paintings a deep radiance. Consciously, the artist makes use of a variety of styles, while all her pieces display a strong link with Portugal, where she lives some of the time and has a studio.
