I got this book thinking it would be more about the people involved in Michigan's legislature, but it focuses more on the transactions and less on personal stories. It’s informative, but a bit dry. Shipping was slow too, took almost a week to arrive. A mixed bag for sure.

Disappointing content and structure
Unfortunately, 'Payoffs in the Cloakroom' didn't meet my expectations. I found the writing style to be quite unengaging and the research seemed scattered. I had hoped for a more cohesive look at Michigan's history, but it just didn't deliver. I'm a bit bummed out since I was looking forward to this.
